چکیده
The Potsdam Arrayed Waveguide Spectrograph (PAWS) is based on an integrated photonic spectrograph designed and developed by innoFSPEC to work in the astronomical H-band. PAWS demonstrates how a traditional bulk optics can be miniaturized additionally serves as tool for testing in-house astrophotonical devices. main element second-generation Grating (AWG) with unprecedented performance terms of spectral resolution throughput that fiber-coupled works first dispersive component. pre-dispersed light fed into free-space optical system located cryostat, where overlapping orders are separated cross-dispersion. resulting echellogram recorded Teledyne 2k×2k H2RG near-infrared array. Once cryogenic cross-dispersion inside vacuum chamber were appropriately aligned AWG coupling outside chamber, different sources used test functionality complete system. A tunable laser source was create through frame stacking. Additionally, cross-dispersed output supercontinuum using input waveguides AWG, achieved laboratory measurements. represents pioneering demonstration astronomy-optimized chip, exhibiting advantageous capabilities spectrographs, particular context space applications.

Instruments without optics: an integrated photonic spectrograph
In recent years, a great deal of emphasis has been placed on achieving the diffraction limit with large aperture telescopes. For a well matched focal-plane instrument, the diffraction limit provides the highest possible angular resolution and sensitivity per pixel. But it offers another key advantage as we now show. Conventionally, as the telescope aperture D grows, the instrument size grows in...
متن کاملAn echelle spectrometer-spectrograph for astronomical use.
A compact echelle spectrometer-spectrograph has been designed for use at the Cassegrain focus of the University of Wisconsin 91-cm telescope at Pine Bluff. Laboratory results obtained with this instrument show that it has great potential for both stellar and nebular studies. Typical photographs and photoelectric scans of laboratory spectra are shown. A method of determining the profile of the e...

Arrayed waveguide gratings are useful structures for the implementation of wavelength division multiplexing; however, in their current form, they are too large to be made cheaply or to use as an integrated component. This paper discusses the work of the MIT Microphotonics Center, explains the operation of an arrayed waveguide grating, and discusses plans for a Master of Engineering thesis proje...

متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
